DON'T... ... throw RUBBISH in the GULCH. Behind buildings 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17 and 18 is a narrow and fairly steep-sided ravine marking the course of a stream. It is private property, and not ours. Please don't subject yourself, or the environment surrounding your Kamalani home, to any potential consequences of throwing anything into the gulch. Don’t... leave good STUFF OUTSIDE trash bins. There is no one hired, or obligated, to pick it up. Please put in the trash bins. Don’t... think your DOG POOP will fertilize the lawn. Please pick up, so we can all enjoy our green spaces.

RESERVE STUDY
The board would like to form a "Reserve Study" Committee. We need a few interested owners to help maintain our project. A list of items are up for review next year. If you are interested, please use the feedback link at the end of this newsletter. Reserve studies are, in essence, planning tools designed to help the association anticipate, and prepare for, the property's major repair and replacement projects. YOU, as an owner, are encouraged to volunteer. Do you want more input into our Kamalani campus? Here's your chance!!

ONGOING LANDSCAPING is the top two expenses, second to water, on our monthly budget. We have discovered the soil quality is not consistent throughout the Kamalani campus. And, of course, there are always those pesky bugs that cause infestations. You may have seen shrubs (Pohinahina) are being trimmed (sometimes drastically) for better coverage and growth. You will see them come back. We are identifying unsuitable plantings in specific areas and trees leaning into the buildings or parked stalls. Please report these to Sean if you see them around your area. Please be mindful of HOUSE RULES that strive for neatness and continuity in our Kamalani community. Recent violations include, but are not limited to, guest parking, oil stains on drive, shoe rack on lanai, paint on drive and road, wetsuit and spear on lanai, bicycles and scooters in front, parking in "no parking" zone, dog off leash, smoking in and around property, rusted screen door, holiday decorations up too long... Thank you for helping keep our community tidy and uniform. Note: There is a fine schedule for each House Rule violation, that doubles each time a violation is repeated, and will be billed to the owner of that unit for payment. SNAIL treatments to reduce the population have been completed. Photocell timers have been replaced in STREET LIGHTS that were staying on half the day.
